Helping people connect with their worlds.

The 3COM Education Module will help your school!

What does this Education Module Do?

  •  Auto-dial absentee calls to parents
  •  Auto-dial event reminder notifications (reminder of games, meetings, practices, open house events, etc.)
  •  Homework hotlines (students and parents can dial in, enter their access code, and retrieve homework assignments for all of the student's classes)
  •  Extracurricular activity hotlines (dial in to find out about sports games, practices, band programs, plays, competitions, etc.)
  •  Lunch menu hotline (dial in to find out what the cafeteria will have for lunch)
  •  Intercom (Administrators can dial in to an extension or classroom; the phone goes off-hook to speaker mode for intercom calls).
  •  911 Emergency Notification
  •  Malicious Call Record-On-Demand:
    • If a teacher or Administrator is on a call that they feel needs to be recorded (ex. the caller makes threats, is hostile, etc.), they can activate call recording.
    •  The call is recorded retroactively back to the very first work of the call.
    •  The recording is saved for evidence purposes (for example, for use by law enforcement).
  •  911 Emergency Notification:
    • A valuable tool for situations that are more urgent or a potentially dangerous (bomb threats, threatening language, etc.)
    •  When 911 is dialed, a series of events are automatically put into action:
      • Immediate notification is set to a predefined list of authorities (ex. principal, security, nurse)
      •  The call is immediately recorded back to the start of the call.
      • An e-mail notification is sent to a pre-defined list of authorities (police, fire department, principal, security, etc.)
      •  After the call is ended a follow-up email is sent that contains a voice recording (.wav file) to a predefined list of authorities.
    • The same actions occur during a normal 911 call.
  •  Malicious Call Trace: If a call comes in, information is captured to enable it to be traced to the source.

Question: We are on a tight budget. The Education Module will help our staff save time and lower our operating costs, but do we have to replace our existing phone system in order to use the Education Module?
Answer: NO! You can incorporate the Education Module into your communications plan, including keeping your legacy phone system. As you see what the NBX system can do for communications within your school, you can phase in the new technology as your budge permits.
