There are people and groups that need help. There are also organizations that do things that help a lot of people. We know that some people contribute to a variety of organizations, and this is certainly good. If you looking to contribute or support a helping organization, we thought that we'd list a few that we know do good things for many:

 
Charity for: Shriners Hospitals for Children
What they do: Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of pediatric specialty hospitals, founded by the Shrine, where children under the age of 18 receive excellent medical care absolutely free of charge. There are 18 orthopaedic Hospitals, three Hospitals dedicated to treating children with severe burns, and one Hospital that provides orthopedic, burn and spinal cord injury care. Shriners Hospitals are located throughout North America — 20 in the United States and one each in Mexico and Canada. These "Centers of Excellence" serve as major referral centers for children with complex orthopedic and burn problems.
How to contribute: There is an online web page you can use to contribute to their hospitals. You can contribute directly or direct your contribution to be put into their endowment so that the money will help now and in the future.

Charity for: Boy Scouts of America
What they do: The BSA Vision Statement: The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. In the future Scouting will continue to: 1. Offer young people responsible fun and adventure; 2. Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law; 3. Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership Serve America's communities and families with its quality, values-based program.
How to Contribute: You can contribute directly to the local Scout Council in your organization, contribute at the national level, arrange for planned giving, or even sponsor a new scout pack or troop. The second URL below can help you help them.

Charity for: Girl Scouts of America
What they do: The GSA Vision is: Girl Scouts of the USA is the world's largest organization dedicated to helping all girls everywhere build character and gain skills for success in the real world. In an accepting and nurturing environment, and in partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop strong values, leadership skills, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth that will serve them all their lives.
How to Contribute: The Girl Scouts of America web site has a page that helps you direct your support to them. This is the second URL listed below. You can also volunteer to support a local unit.
