| Home Security systems generally send out a call to the security system
provider and/or emergency response personnel when a security sensor is tripped.
The sensor could be window or door sensor, a motion sensor, or a heat/smoke
sensor. Although security systems are often left out of initial planning for home
construction, it is best to include them in the planning stage for several
reasons. First, security systems generally follow the same wiring topology as
telephone, computer, video, and audio systems. Second, it is advisable to make
security equipment part of the integrated networking plan. Third, by planning
ahead, you will just about always get a better security system and save money.
NIC does not currently sell or favor a particularly home security system, but
we will work with the security system provider to integrate the security system
planning with the rest of the home integrated networking plan.
