VCX Enterprise Telephone Systems

The VCX is more than just an enterprise telephone system. It is part of a suite of hardware and software applications designed to take advantage of the power that can be realized by the convergence of voice, data, and video.

The 3Com Convergence Applications Suite is the first in a new category of products designed to take advantage of network convergence and include telephony, messaging, conferencing, and contact center services. The suite enables use of  common call control, authentication, privacy, presence, and location services across a suite of IP Telephony, IP Messaging, IP Conferencing, and IP Contact Center applications.


Important Note: If you are a large business, organization, or government agency, by choosing the NBX Telephone systems for parts of our organization you will be able to incrementally migrate to a the full VCX set of applications. Why? The NBX telephones and other hardware is compatible with the VCX Enterprise Telephone System. By selecting NBX telephone systems you get investment assurance that you will likely not find with other communications options.

3Com VCX IP Telephony module

The 3Com VCX IP Telephony module features enterprise IP-PBX services delivered through open, scalable, secure and highly available software. Related components include:

  •  3Com VCX Media Gateways: 3Com VCX Digital Gateways provide the connection to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and to PBXs using Channel Associated Signalling (CAS) or Primary Rate Interface (PRI). 3Com VCX Analog Gateways provide IP network connectivity for fax machines and 2500-compatible devices.

  •  3Com IP Phones: The 3Com portfolio of professional IP worktops is an integral component of the 3Com Convergence Applications Suite.

3Com Enterprise Management Suite

The 3Com Enterprise Management Suite is an enterprise-class management package that provides the administrator with a top-down, all-encompassing view of the converged voice-data network. The suite becomes a vital application in troubleshooting, performing periodic self-tuned upgrades, inventory checks, and managing stress points within the network.

3Com IP Messaging Module

The 3Com IP Messsaging module delivers advanced IP messaging, including voice mail, find me/follow me, fax mail functionality, and integration with e-mail systems that improve ROI, employee productivity, and strengthen customer interactions. Related components include:

  •  Find Me/Follow Me: Find me/follow me services enable enterprise users to personalize the way and the device on which they receive calls, greatly enhancing their productivity and increasing customer satisfaction.

  •  Voice Mail: This robust centralized IP voicemail system lowers costs while providing seamless migration from legacy voicemail systems.

  •  Unified Messaging: Unified messaging services enable users to integrate voice mail and fax mail into the e-mail messaging system, letting enterprises configure a single in-box for fax mails and giving users the flexibility to reroute faxes to e-mail, a local fax machine, or printer.

3Com Complement Attendant Application

The 3Com Complement Attendant applicaiton is a Windows-based application that provides switchboard operator functionality with site-wide, enterprise-wide, and personal directory service.

3Com VCX Call Detail Record (CDR) Reporting Application

The 3Com VCX CDR Reporting application is a Windows-based application that administrators use to analyze call reports based on extensions, destinations, and messages.
